What is Trompe l’Oeil
Trompe l’Oeil (French for ‘deceive the eye’) is a method of creating optical illusions in paint, traditionally used in mural painting and fine art.
What to Expect
You will learn how to paint realistic illusions using acrylic paint and the methods and materials used in interior decoration. You will paint part of a large group panel. In addition, you will paint a small image on card (for example a little creature or object), which you can take home at the end of the course.
Transferable Skills and Future Careers
All of our workshops will teach you valuable skills that will be of benefit in a variety of careers. This workshop would particularly suit anyone seeking to do further study or embark on a future career in Set Design (for theatre and film), Illustration, Interior Design and Painting.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible to apply you will need to be 14 – 18 years old during the dates of the workshop.
You should be creative and have an interest in the careers listed above, or similar areas. You should also have good hand-eye co-ordination.
In your application you should demonstrate a passion for working with your hands.
You must be able to attend every day of the workshop.

Course Funding
Our workshops are fully-funded by generous sponsors. Places are limited, therefore, we recommend you submit your application as early as possible.
