Workshop Information

Course Outline

This is led by puppeteer and Creative Dimension Trust tutor Siân Kidd, and is aimed at students who wish to learn the process of designing, making and operating a marionette or string puppet.

Using found objects and mixed materials, students will learn how to design and make their own puppet, while developing a knowledge of different tools and techniques.

You will be taught how to operate your finished marionette and shown some puppetry performance techniques. Throughout the course you will be given support and advice to develop your puppet for performance and the course will culminate with a sharing of your work.

This course is aimed at people with an interest in puppetry. Students are encouraged to bring their own objects to incorporate into their puppets.
