Venue: The Goldsmiths’ Centre, London
Dates: This workshop will run from Monday 9th August 2021 until Friday 13th August 2021. If the workshop becomes oversubscribed, we will close the application process early.
For this workshop students will be taught techniques including shaping, bending, hammering, sawing, soldering, texturing and enamelling. Materials used will include silver, copper and brass.
Enamel is a material made by fusing powdered glass to a substrate by firing, usually between 750 and 850 °C. The powder melts, flows, and then hardens to a smooth, durable vitreous coating. The word comes from the Latin vitreum, meaning “glass”.
