Workshop Information

Course Outline

Over three sessions we will explore different ways of mixing paint to achieve the colours you want.

We will work with a limited palette, but the methods you will learn can be used for mixing all colours. You will learn two different ways of mixing colour: mixing paints together and applying translucent layers of colour on top of one another. As well as mixing colour, we will discuss the sheen and texture of paint and how it affects the appearance of colour, as well as the way colours interact with one another optically to create an illusion of colour. At the end of the course you should feel more confident about mixing and adjusting paint colour.  You will have learnt some ways to match a new mix to a previous colour and you will have made a set of sample boards to use for reference in the future.

This workshop will be run by the highly experienced Creative Dimension Trust tutor Sarah Hocombe.
