The Creative Dimension Trust Fashion Specialism Workshop with De Montfort University
An Introduction to Contour Fashion
Within this exciting and immersive course, you will have the unique opportunity to unleash your emerging creativity by experiencing at first hand, the art of contour garment creation. You will be encouraged to consider prototype progression, driven by your personal design and conceptual thoughts, which will culminate into final pieces utilising a variance of mediums.
You will embark on a journey that blends artistry with craftsmanship, discovering the intricate processes involved in creating essential elements of bras and intimates. Our expert instructors will guide you through the fundamentals of design, pattern making, and construction, providing insights into the principles that define this specialised field of study.
Throughout the day, you’ll engage in hands-on activities that will nurture your vision and enable you to explore the relationship between form and function. The workshop will support your innovation, allowing you to leave with a newfound appreciation for the form, function and innate creative ingenuity involved in Contour Fashion, as well as the confidence to bring your dynamic ideas to life!
Timings
This workshop will start at 10am and finish at approximately 4:30pm.

TCDT workshops give a chance to develop a range of transferable skills and valuable insight to possible career paths. Some of the career choices our alumni have pursued include; Architecture, Engineering, Fine Art, Jewellery Making, Art Conservation, Glass Working, Theatre Design, Fashion Design, Costume Design – the list is growing!
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible to apply you will need to be 16 – 19 years old during the dates of the workshop.
You should be creative and have an interest in the careers listed above, or similar areas. You should also have good hand-eye co-ordination.
In your application you should demonstrate a passion for working with your hands.
You must be able to attend every day of the workshop.

Course Funding
Our workshops are fully-funded by generous sponsors. Places are limited, therefore, we recommend you submit your application as early as possible.
There are only 12-15 spaces available on this workshop. If the workshop becomes oversubscribed, we will close the application process early.
