2021 Creative Dimension Trust Annual Award for Outstanding Achievement

The Creative Dimension Trust is delighted to announce this year’s winner of the Annual Award for Outstanding Achievement, Ellie Harrison.

Ellie found The Creative Dimension Trust by happy accident in 2019 and attended her first workshop, ‘From Dream to Product’, at Zone Creations that same year. Since then, Ellie has participated in a further 12 workshops, saying that they have “…all been absolutely brilliant. I did Stone Carving twice because it was so good.”

Accepting her award at the 2021 Bonhams collaboration event, Ellie thanked those at The Creative Dimension Trust who have inspired her and spoke of the buzz of seeing her final pieces of work for the first time.

“Giving teenagers the opportunity to make things, as art is cut so much from schools these days, is just so, so important. Even more than that, it really boils down to the people. Spending time with inspiring people completely changes your life, as it has for me.”

“The Creative Dimension [has] introduced me to a whole world of craft and people who have careers [working] with their hands” Ellie said, “…it’s shown me that it’s all possible”. Ellie is now looking to pursue a career in creative crafts and we are excited to hear that she has started a sculpture degree at Glasgow School of Arts.

The Creative Dimension Trust Annual Award for Outstanding Achievement is an annual award given to a student in recognition of their excellent contribution to workshops and/or work experience opportunities during their time with The Trust.
