Partnerships

Collaboration sits at the heart of every TCDT programme. We work closely with artists, schools, museums, corporations, livery companies, architecture practices, curators, and many others to bring our programmes to life.

Our work is made possible through the generosity, expertise, and shared vision of our partners. Every workshop, placement, and opportunity we offer is the result of meaningful collaboration and goodwill.

If you are interested in supporting TCDT or exploring a partnership, we would love to hear from you.

The Royal Household

For over ten years, TCDT has collaborated with The Royal Household – an enduring partnership that has offered exceptional opportunities to young people passionate about craft and conservation. The collaboration began in 2015 with two pilot workshops, generously supported by the Eranda Rothschild Foundation. Their success laid the foundation for TCDT’s formal establishment as a charity and marked the beginning of a unique relationship with The Royal Household. Since then, TCDT has delivered a remarkable series of heritage craft workshops held within some of the UK’s most iconic royal residences, including Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle. Many of these workshops are run in close partnership with expert conservators from The Royal Household, offering students unparalleled access to traditional skills taught by masters of their disciplines. On 17 March 2026, Buckingham Palace confirmed that His Majesty The King has graciously agreed to become Patron of the charity.

Fortnum & Mason

TCDT’s partnership with Fortnum & Mason has grown into a vibrant and creative collaboration that celebrates craftsmanship, innovation, and opportunity. Since 2020, the partnership has opened doors for young people through hands-on workshops, work placements, and high-profile showcases. From contributing to the gilding of Fortnum’s iconic façade to creating striking window displays, students have had the chance to work on projects that blend heritage techniques with contemporary design. Now in its fifth year, the partnership continues to inspire and champion the next generation of creative talent.

The Goldsmiths’ Centre

Since 2017, TCDT and The Goldsmiths’ Centre have shared a commitment to nurturing emerging talent through practical experience and expert guidance. What began as a funding relationship has developed into a strong and lasting partnership. At its core are immersive workshops in Jewellery Making and Enamelling, delivered in the Centre’s state-of-the-art studios in Farringdon. Here, students gain hands-on experience, work with industry professionals, and access world-class facilities – helping to build meaningful pathways into careers in craft.

Hermès

Over the past three years, TCDT has partnered with Hermès on an inspiring educational initiative. As part of Manufacto, the Skills Factory programme, developed by the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès, students have been introduced to the fundamentals of craftsmanship through practical learning. Led by expert tutor Emma Leslie, carpentry workshops at St Vincent’s Primary School in Marylebone have enabled pupils aged 10–11 to design and build beautifully crafted, contemporary lamps. The programme fosters creativity, confidence, and a deeper appreciation for making.

Allford Hall Monaghan Morris

Since 2018, TCDT has collaborated with Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM) to deliver dynamic Model Making Workshops that bring architectural ideas to life. This partnership offers students aged 16–19 a unique opportunity to explore architectural design through an intensive, hands-on experience. Over the course of a week, participants receive one-to-one mentoring from professionals while learning to create detailed scale models using both traditional techniques and modern tools. The result is an inspiring introduction to the world of architecture and design.

The Building Crafts College

TCDT’s partnership with The Building Crafts College in Stratford, the UK’s leading provider of construction crafts education, began in 2016 with two introductory workshops in stoneworking and woodworking. Since then, it has developed into an ongoing collaboration centred on traditional craft skills and practical learning. Workshops have expanded to include projects such as Make Your Own Carry Case, Stone Carving, and Make Your Own Side Table, offering students the opportunity to develop technical skills while creating high-quality, functional pieces.

Cockpit Studios

Since 2023, TCDT has partnered with Cockpit to deliver specialist craft workshops across its Bloomsbury and Deptford studios. As the UK’s only business incubator for craft, Cockpit provides an inspiring setting for hands-on learning. Led by TCDT tutors, recent workshops have included New Pattern Making / Classic Tailoring, Special Effects Makeup for Film & TV, and Marbling, giving students the opportunity to develop practical skills within a professional creative environment.

Lock & Co

TCDT has partnered with Lock & Co. Hatters to deliver specialist hat making workshops, alongside opportunities to showcase student work. In April 2026, the window installation All Around My Hat brought together outcomes from recent workshops in a collaborative display. Designed by TCDT Trustee, curator and designer Simon Costin, the installation incorporated Lock & Co.’s Panama hats, celebrating craftsmanship and creative collaboration.
