Workshop Information
Course Outline
This workshop will focus on creating contemporary sugar and gum paste flower decorations which the students will be able to make at home. Your flower sprays will consist of hydrangeas, sweet peas, climbing roses and foliage. This course will be held online and students will create dummy cakes at home that they can add to their portfolios.
The tutor for this workshop is the Head Pastry Chef for The Royal Household
Timings
Students must report for group teaching at 9am for a 30 minute tutorial. Following the first session, students will go offline to create their own work. The afternoon session will include private one-to-one sessions, a show and tell, and a briefing for the following day.
Transferable Skills and Future Careers
All of our workshops provide you with an opportunity to develop some great transferable skills that could help you in a number of careers. This workshop would be of particular interest to anyone who is interested in pursuing a career as a: Cake Designer, Pastry Chef, Conservation, Architectural Model Making, Animation, Fine Art and Sculpture. (to name a few)
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible to apply you will need to be 16 – 19 years old during the dates of the workshop.
There will be an interview process following the closure date, please note there are only 5 places available for this workshop.
You should be creative and have an interest in the careers listed above, or similar areas. You should also have good hand-eye co-ordination.
In your application you should demonstrate a passion for working with your hands.
You must be able to attend every day of the workshop.

Our workshops are fully-funded by generous sponsors. Places are limited, therefore, we recommend you submit your application as early as possible.
