Dates: This workshop ran on Saturdays for three weeks from Saturday 10th April 2021 until Saturday 24th April 2021.
Participate in the most delicately fulfilling carving experience by realising patterns in a traditional medium.
This is a unique opportunity to study stucco/ plaster carving with the practicing sculptor Adam Williamson.
The patterns used for the intro exercises will focus on the geometric and biomorphic patterns and techniques from Morocco and Levant, techniques and skills shared will draw on a multitude of world traditions.
Participants will practice relief & piercing carving techniques.
Students must report for group teaching at 10am. Classes will finish at approximately 4:30pm.
Transferable Skills and Future Careers
All of our workshops give you a valuable chance to develop a range of transferable skills. This is a great workshop for anyone who is interested in learning some of the skills required for careers in: Conservation, Signwriting, Calligraphy, Fine Art, Illustration and Animation. (to name a few)
In order to be eligible to apply you will need to be 18 – 19 years old during the dates of the workshop.
You should be creative and have an interest in the careers listed above, or similar areas. You should also have good hand-eye co-ordination.
In your application you should demonstrate a passion for working with your hands.
You must be able to attend every day of the workshop.
