Course Outline
During this week-long workshop, you will learn the art of Architectural modelling in an exciting and creative environment.
With uninterrupted guidance from one of Allford Hall Monaghan Morris’ senior in-house model makers, you will be challenged to produce an Architectural object, using various techniques and materials, turning your 2D idea into an elegant and sophisticated, yet practical 3D masterpiece.
You will be encouraged to realise your ideas through traditional model making artistry, using general workshop machinery, such as the CNC milling machine, Spray booth equipment and the Lathe.
Together with this, you will learn the latest techniques within our industry, including 2D and 3D CAD, Laser cutting and 3D Printing.
Dates
There will be space for one student on each of the following weeks:
- Monday 12th August – Friday 16th August 2024
- Monday 19th August – Friday 23rd August 2024

Venue
This workshop will be held at Allford Hall Monaghan Morris Architects (AHMM) in London. AHMM is an established architectural practice in Central London with over thirty years experience. They have a firm commitment to the design of buildings of economy, elegance and delight.
Transferable Skills and Future Careers
All of our workshops give you a valuable chance to develop a range of transferable skills. This is a great workshop for anyone who is interested in learning some of the skills required for careers in: 3D Design, Furniture Design, Furniture Making, Theatre Design, Architecture Model Making and Architecture (to name a few).
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible to apply you will need to be 16 – 19 years old during the dates of the workshop.
Following the application closure date, there will be an interview process during May 2022.
You should be creative and have an interest in the careers listed above, or similar areas. You should also have good hand-eye coordination.
In your application you should demonstrate a passion for working with your hands.
You must be able to attend every day of the workshop.

Course Funding
Our workshops are fully-funded by generous sponsors. Places are limited, therefore, we recommend you submit your application as early as possible.
If the workshop becomes oversubscribed, we will close the application process early.
