This Work Experience ran 21 July 2025 – 22 August 2025

Monday 21st July until Friday 25th July 2025 and Monday 18th August until Friday 22nd August 2025. During this week-long work experience placement, two students had the opportunity to shadow an engineer and a technician from Heyne Tillett Steel, complete a small engineering project and assist the Team Coordinators to undertake a typical research project. Work Experience Information

During this work experience placement, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Shadow an engineer to get a ‘day in the life’ perspective and attend a site visit
  • Shadow a technician to understand their role and gain an insight to Heyne Tillett Steel’s apprenticeship scheme
  • Complete a small engineering project – there will be an engineer on hand to ask for help if needed
  • Assist the Team Coordinators and undertake a typical research project
  • Spend time with the marketing department to understand their role in the business

Location

Heyne Tillett Steel are based in Hoxton, the nearest tube station Old Street.

Dress Code

The dress code is smart casual. PPE will be provided for any site visits.

 

 

Eligibility Criteria
  • To apply for this opportunity, students must be aged between 16-20 years old.
  • You must be able to attend every day of the work experience.
