Summer 2022: Geometry of Structure

Bow Road Studios, London E3, This workshop ran for five days from Monday 22nd August 2022 until Friday 26th August 2022.
Over a packed 5 days, using a variety of materials, students made an array of 3-dimensional static and kinetic structures. Including spherical models and a full-size bamboo tetrahedron and geodesic dome.

Summer 2022: Jewellery Making

The Goldsmiths’ Centre, London, This workshop ran from Monday 15th August 2022 until Friday 19th  August 2022.
During this workshop, students learned traditional techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering and annealing to complete a personal piece of jewellery to take home.

Summer 2022: Sign Writing on Skateboards

Bow Road Studios, London E3, This workshop ran for four days from Tuesday 16th August 2022 until Friday 19th August 2022.
In this workshop, students learned how to paint a box or skateboard using traditional, timeless brushwork and pinstriping techniques. Practicing with a mahl stick (a stick with a soft leather or padded head used by painters) and enamel paints, students acquired some new design, shading and lining talents while mastering some serious brushwork skills.

Summer 2022: Painting Techniques

Zone Creations Ltd, London (SW19), This workshop ran from Monday 8th August 2022 until Friday 12th  August 2022.
In this workshop, students learned how to create realistic effects in acrylic paint using specialist brushes and materials. Students made a series of samples to keep and added the finishing touches to a Window Display Backdrop, which will be displayed in a central London location in the Autumn of 2022.

Summer 2022: Gilding Techniques

Dulwich College, London, This workshop ran for five days from Monday 8th August 2022 until Friday 12th  August 2022.
In this five-day introductory workshop, students explored the traditional method of applying real gold leaf to a wooden frame. Students were taught the many steps required to create a smooth surface as well as other techniques that give different finishes, often seen on antique frames and furniture. Summer 2022: ARCHITECTURAL MODEL MAKING

Allford Hall Monaghan Morris Architects, London, This workshop ran over three weeks during July and August 2022.
Three lucky students had the opportunity to learn the art of Architectural modelling in an exciting and creative environment, with uninterrupted guidance from one of Allford Hall Monaghan Morris’ senior in-house model makers.   See photos from the workshop here.

Summer 2022: Ceramic Tile Making

Dulwich College, London, This workshop ran for three days from Tuesday 9th August 2022 until Thursday 11th August 2022.

Summer 2022: Leatherwork

Dulwich College, London, This workshop ran from Monday 8th August 2022 until Wednesday 10th  August 2022.
During this course students had the opportunity to learn the basic techniques of leather work, including tooling, construction, dyeing and professional finishings and were able to make a number of leather goods to take home.

Summer 2022: Blueprint Photography

Bow Road Studios, London E3, This workshop ran for two days from Saturday 6th August 2022 to Sunday 7th August 2022.
At the end of this 2 day immersion, every student was able to take home four unique artworks created using the exiting, photographic printmaking process 'Canyontype'. See photos from the workshop here.

Summer 2022: ENAMELLING AND FLOWER MAKING WITH METAL

The Goldsmiths’ Centre, London, This workshop ran from Monday 1st August 2022 until Friday 5th  August 2022.
During this workshop, students were taught techniques including shaping, bending, hammering, sawing, soldering, texturing and enamelling using. Students were able to experience working with different materials including silver, copper and brass. See photos from the workshop here.
