2024: Fabrication

This Work Experience ran on 17 August 2024

Students had the opportunity to spend the day with experts in the world of Fabrication. The day included working on a CAD design, working with a variety of materials, machining and assembly!

2024: Alumni Volunteer Opportunity | Mural Painting

This Work Experience ran 12 August 2024 – 16 August 2024

One student assisted renowned fresco painter, illustrator and tutor Sarah Hocombe during the TCDT Mural Painting workshop at Cockpit Arts, Bloomsbury.

2024: Architecture with HKS Architects

This Work Experience ran 12 August 2024 – 16 August 2024

Two students had an opportunity to spend a week at the London office of renown architecture firm, HKS. Find out more about HKS here.

2024: Structural and Civil Engineering

This Work Experience ran 5 August 2024 – 9 August 2024

During this one week work experience placement, one student had the opportunity to shadow an engineer and a technician from Heyne Tillett Steel, complete a small engineering project and assist the Team Coordinators to undertake a typical research project.

2024: Furniture Making

2024: Architecture with Emrys Architects

This Work Experience ran 29 July 2024 – 21 August 2024

Monday 29th July until Thursday 1st August 2024 and Tuesday 20th August until Wednesday 21st August 2024. Two students spent time with award-winning architectural practice, Emrys Architects, and had the opportunity to tackle a variety of tasks ranging from hand-drawing, CAD-drawing, BIM Modelling, 3D modelling or 3D printing. 2024: Jewellery Making

This Work Experience ran 15 July 2024 – 17 July 2024

One student attended this three day work experience with Ravn School of Arts & Crafts where they had the opportunity to work with the highly skilled Goldsmiths’ Company Fellow Paul Ravn, and gain an insight into how a professional jewellery studio works.

2024: Bookbinding

This Work Experience ran 24 June 2024 – 28 June 2024

One student had the opportunity to spend a week learning the ancient craft of bookbinding with the team at Shepherds bindery in London. Shepherds is one of the oldest bookbinding companies in England specialising in fine binding, restoration and the conservation of books and manuscripts.

2024: Leather Making

This Work Experience ran on 15 February 2024

Students joined world-renowned designer and craftsman, Bill Amberg, for an afternoon. Bill shared his extensive knowledge on the history and sustainability of leather used in the creation of bespoke leather products, interiors and furniture.
