PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE

2024: Alumni Volunteer Opportunity | Mural Painting

Venue: Cockpit Arts, Bloomsbury

Monday 12th August until Friday 16th August 2024. One student assisted renowned fresco painter, illustrator and tutor Sarah Hocombe during the TCDT Mural Painting workshop at Cockpit Arts, Bloomsbury.

2024: Architecture with HKS Architects

Venue: HKS Architects, London W1W 8BF

Monday 12th August until Friday 16th August 2024. Two students had an opportunity to spend a week at the London office of renown architecture firm, HKS. Find out more about HKS here.

2024: Structural and Civil Engineering

Venue: Heyne Tillett Steel, London N1 6DD

Monday 5th August until Friday 9th August 2024. During this one week work experience placement, one student had the opportunity to shadow an engineer and a technician from Heyne Tillett Steel, complete a small engineering project and assist the Team Coordinators to undertake a typical research project. 2024: Furniture Making

Venue: Emma Leslie

Monday 5th August until Friday 9th August 2024. One student spent a week with award winning furniture maker, Emma Leslie. Find out more about Emma and her work here.

2024: Architecture with Allford Hall Monaghan Morris

Venue: Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, London EC1V 9HL

Monday 29th July until Friday 2nd August 2024. One student had the opportunity to spend a week with one of the most prestigious Architectural firms in the U.K. Find out more about Allford Hall Monaghan Morris here.

2024: Jewellery Making

Venue: Ravn School of Arts & Crafts, London

Monday 15th July until Wednesday 17th July 2024. One student attended this three day work experience with Ravn School of Arts & Crafts where they had the opportunity to work with the highly skilled Goldsmiths’ Company Fellow Paul Ravn, and gain an insight into how a professional jewellery studio works.

2024: Bookbinding

Venue: Shepherds Bindery, London SW1P 1JU

Monday 24th June until Friday 28th June 2024. One student had the opportunity to spend a week learning the ancient craft of bookbinding with the team at Shepherds bindery in London. Shepherds is one of the oldest bookbinding companies in England specialising in fine binding, restoration and the conservation of books and manuscripts. Find out more about Shepherds here.

2024: Leather Making

Venue: Bill Amberg Studio, London

Thursday 15th February 2024. Students joined world-renowned designer and craftsman, Bill Amberg, for an afternoon. Bill shared his extensive knowledge on the history and sustainability of leather used in the creation of bespoke leather products, interiors and furniture. Find out more about Bill Amberg Studio here.
