2021: Ceramic Tile Making

Dulwich College, London, This workshop ran for three days from Tuesday 17th August 2021 until Thursday 19th August 2021.
During this three-day course students designed and decorated their own set of bespoke wall tiles. After learning traditional practices such as tubelining, students worked collaboratively to create a tile panel to be included in a window display at Fortnum & Mason. 2021: Gilding on Leather – Online

Online, This workshop ran from Monday 9th August 2021 until Friday 13th August 2021.
In this workshop, students learned about the history of gilding on leather - a skill which has existed since the early centuries A.D.

2021: Bejewelled Beasts, Marionette Puppet Making – Online

Online, This workshop ran from Monday 9th August 2021 until Friday 13th  August 2021.
In this course, taught by Creative Dimension Trust tutor Sian Kidd, students created their own Marionettes, inspired by insects, all while developing a range of exciting new skills. See photos from the workshop here.

2021: ARCHITECTURAL MODEL MAKING

Allford Hall Monaghan Morris Architects, London, This workshop ran for three dates over July and August 2021.
Three lucky students had the opportunity to learn the art of Architectural modelling in an exciting and creative environment, with uninterrupted guidance from one of Allford Hall Monaghan Morris’ senior in-house model makers. See photos from the workshop here.

2021: ENAMELLING AND FLOWER MAKING WITH METAL

The Goldsmiths’ Centre, London, This workshop ran from Monday 9th August 2021 until Friday 13th  August 2021.
For this workshop students were taught techniques including shaping, bending, hammering, sawing, soldering, texturing and enamelling. Materials used included silver, copper and brass. See photos from the workshop here.

2021: Backdrop for Window Display

Online & Zone Creations Ltd, London (SW19), This workshop ran from Monday 2nd August 2021 until Friday 6th  August 2021.
In this workshop, students worked together to create a dramatic sky, which will be used as the backdrop for a window display at a famous store in Piccadilly, London. They learned how to create sky effects in acrylic, and discussed the practicalities of making work for temporary installation in a retail setting. See photos from the workshop here.

2021: Surrealist Head Pieces – Leather Mask Making

Dulwich College, London, This workshop ran for five days from Monday 2nd August 2021 until Friday 6th August 2021.

In this workshop, students had the opportunity to experiment, develop and style a wearable art as they worked with leather to create sculptural facemasks. See photos from the workshop here.

2021: MAKING A TRADITIONAL FRENCH-STYLE SQUAB CUSHION – Online

Online, This online workshop rann from Monday 2nd August 2021 until Friday 6th August 2021.  
During this online workshop, students learned to make a traditional French-style squab cushion.

2021: Embroidery – Online

Online, This workshop ran from Monday 26th July 2021 until Friday 30th  July 2021.
During this online workshop, students were introduced to Goldwork Embroidery and created a gold bee embroidered on white cloth. See photos from the workshop here.

2021: Stone Carving

Building Crafts College, London, This workshop ran from Monday 26th July 2021 until Friday 30th  July 2021.
Students worked with renowned stone carver, Nancy Peskett, to produce wonderful stone carved pieces. See photos from the workshop here.
