2020: Sign Writing Brush Skills – Online

Online, This workshop ran during the October half term on Tuesday 27th October 2020 to Wednesday 28th  October 2020.
In this workshop, students learned how to paint a box or board using traditional, timeless brushwork and pinstriping techniques. Students acquired new design, shading and lining talents and learned to master some serious brushwork skills.

2020: ARCHITECTURAL GILDING

Fortnum & Mason, London, This workshop ran for five days from Monday 24th August 2020 to Friday 28th August 2020.  
Creative Dimension Trust tutor Rian Kanduth tutored students in the intricate gilding technique. This was a special chance for students to leave their mark on one of London’s most ancient and iconic landmarks, Fortnum and Mason.   See photos from the workshop here.

2020: Geometric Drawing – Online

Online, This online workshop ran from Monday 24th August 2020 to Friday 28th August 2020.
In this unique, skills based course, students used traditional methods to explore a range of classic designs. Using traditional tools of compass and straight edge, they recreated a beautiful pattern from a different part of the world.

2020: Stencilling – Online

Online, This online workshop ran from Monday 24th August 2020 to Friday 28th August 2020.
In this course, students learned how to make their own stencils and how to apply water-based acrylic paint with a brush to create designs using the stencils they crafted themselves.

2020: Introduction to Illustration and Painting – Online

Online, This online workshop ran from Monday 17th August 2020 until Friday 21st August 2020.
In this workshop, students learned how to create a painting based on different source materials (such as photos, historical artworks and internet images), choosing a subject that functions as an anchor for their final composition piece.

2020: THEATRICAL MASK MAKING – Online

Online, This workshop ran for five days from Monday 10th August 2020 until Friday 14th August 2020.
In this workshop students learned how masks are used across the creative industries and had the opportunity to explore, design and build their own custom mask.

2020: GILDING ON TEXTILES – Online

Online, This workshop ran from Monday 10th August 2020 until Friday 14th August 2020.
During this workshop, students learned how to fuse metal foil and gild gold leaf onto textiles. Students had the opportunity to fuse metal foil and gild gold leaf onto their own objects during the week.

2020: Designing and Painting a Grisaille Panel or Frieze – Online

Online, This online workshop ran from Monday 10th August 2020 until Friday 14th August 2020.
In this workshop, students learned the beautiful Grisaille technique, translating it into their own panel or frieze.

2020: UPHOLSTERY – Online

Online, This online workshop ran from Monday 3rd August 2020 until Friday 7th August 2020.  
In this workshop, lucky Creative Dimension Trust students were able to join the team at the  Conservation Studios at Shaw Farm Gate in Windsor via Zoom to learn about this fantastic craft.

2020: Weave It! Weave It! – Online

Online, This online workshop ran from Monday 3rd August 2020 until Friday 7th August 2020.
In this course, students were introduced to weaving by award winning weaver, Claire Whelan. Using a weaving frame with yarns and recycled materials, students were taught a variety of processes including dyeing. See photos from the workshop here.
