2020: Calligraphy for Beginners – Online

Online, This online workshop ran on Saturday 14th November 2020 and Saturday 21st November 2020.
In this workshop, students learned the fundamental techniques needed to write cursive Italic script.

2020: Arabesque, The Art of Pattern – Online

Online, This workshop ran on Saturdays for five weeks from Saturday 3rd October 2020 until Saturday 31st  October 2020.
In this workshop, students learned to draw a series of decorative patterns inspired by the natural world, developing their hand eye coordination. This class combined both freehand and geometric elements and gave students the opportunity to explore glide patterns and mitres.

2020: MARBLING – ONLINE

Online, This online workshop ran for four days from Monday 26th October 2020 until Thursday 29th October 2020.
Students had the opportunity to learn the exciting skill of marbling and created beautiful designs on a range of different materials.   See photos from the workshop here.

2020: CONTEMPORARY SUGAR AND GUM PASTE FLOWERS – Online

Online, This online workshop ran for three days from Tuesday 27th October 2020 until Thursday 29th October 2020.  
In this online workshop, students created stunning decorative and edible floral sprays for cakes.

2020: MARIONETTE PUPPET MAKING – Beasts of the Air! – Online

Online, This online workshop ran for three days from Monday 26th October 2020 until Wednesday 28th October 2020.
In this course, taught by Creative Dimension Trust tutor Sian Kidd, students created their own Marionettes, developing a range of exciting new skills.

2020: Sign Writing Brush Skills – Online

Online, This workshop ran during the October half term on Tuesday 27th October 2020 to Wednesday 28th  October 2020.
In this workshop, students learned how to paint a box or board using traditional, timeless brushwork and pinstriping techniques. Students acquired new design, shading and lining talents and learned to master some serious brushwork skills.

2020: ARCHITECTURAL GILDING

Fortnum & Mason, London, This workshop ran for five days from Monday 24th August 2020 to Friday 28th August 2020.  
Creative Dimension Trust tutor Rian Kanduth tutored students in the intricate gilding technique. This was a special chance for students to leave their mark on one of London’s most ancient and iconic landmarks, Fortnum and Mason.   See photos from the workshop here.

2020: Geometric Drawing – Online

Online, This online workshop ran from Monday 24th August 2020 to Friday 28th August 2020.
In this unique, skills based course, students used traditional methods to explore a range of classic designs. Using traditional tools of compass and straight edge, they recreated a beautiful pattern from a different part of the world.

2020: Stencilling – Online

Online, This online workshop ran from Monday 24th August 2020 to Friday 28th August 2020.
In this course, students learned how to make their own stencils and how to apply water-based acrylic paint with a brush to create designs using the stencils they crafted themselves.

2020: Introduction to Illustration and Painting – Online

Online, This online workshop ran from Monday 17th August 2020 until Friday 21st August 2020.
In this workshop, students learned how to create a painting based on different source materials (such as photos, historical artworks and internet images), choosing a subject that functions as an anchor for their final composition piece.
