Autumn 2024: Enamelling
The Goldsmiths’ Centre, London, This workshop ran for five days from Monday 28th October 2024 until Friday 1st November 2024.During this workshop, students were taught techniques including shaping, bending, hammering, sawing, soldering, texturing and enamelling. Materials used included silver, copper and brass.
Autumn 2024: Tassel Making – Passementerie
Wendy Cushing Passementerie Workshop, Muswell Hill London N10, This workshop ran for three days from Monday 28th October 2024 until Wednesday 30th October 2024.This course involved various techniques in making tassels and tiebacks and allowed students who completed the summer course to revise and extend their techniques.

The Royal Collection Trust Gilding Workshop, London SW1, This workshop ran for one day on Tuesday 29th October 2024.Students spent a morning at the Royal Collection Trust Gilding Workshop and were given an introduction to laying gold leaf. They were taken on a tour of the venue visiting the Furniture, Metals and Ceramics workshops before spending a couple of hours learning how to lay 23.5ct gold leaf in the Gilding workshop.
Autumn 2024: Craft Your Own Carry Case
Building Crafts College, London, This workshop ran on Saturdays for six weeks from Saturday 14th September 2024 until Saturday 19th October 2024.In this workshop, students designed and constructed their own wooden carry case which can be used as a tool box, a crafting case, or even as a holdall for toiletries!
Summer 2024: Architectural Drawing – Facades and Ornamentation
Bow Road Studios, London E3, This workshop ran for five days from Monday 19th August 2024 until Friday 23rd August 2024.In this workshop, students learned to draw architectural elements including decorative corbels, horseshoes arches and ionic capitals. They used traditional tools including compass and straight edge, and were taught technical drawings stage by stage.
SUMMER 2024: ARCHITECTURAL MODEL MAKING
Allford Hall Monaghan Morris Architects, London, This workshop ran throughout August 2024, with one student attending each of the two, week-long workshops.Two lucky students had the opportunity to learn the art of Architectural modelling in an exciting and creative environment, with uninterrupted guidance from one of Allford Hall Monaghan Morris’ senior in-house model makers.
Summer 2024: Marbling
Cockpit Arts, Deptford, This workshop ran for four days from Tuesday 20th August 2024 until Friday 23rd August 2024.During this workshop, students learned a variety of different marbling techniques - including Suminagashi ink marbling, Turkish Ebru and European marbling.
Summer 2024: Leather Tassel Making
Bill Amberg Studios, London NW10, This workshop ran for one day on Wednesday 21st August 2024.During this half day workshop, at the world renown Bill Amberg Studios, students were introduced to the art of leather working and make leather tassels!
